Liverpool have reportedly contacted Schalke and told them they remain interested in Leon Goretzka despite spending £75million on Virgil van Dijk.
Liverpool have made a splash before the January transfer window has even opened by paying Southampton £75m for Van Dijk.
Schalke star Goretzka has emerged as a target in recent months with Philippe Coutinho still being tracked by Barcelona.
And Spanish newspaper Marca claim Liverpool have told Schalke they remain keen on signing the Germany international.
Goretzka is in demand with his Schalke contract up at the end of the season.
Manchester United, Juventus and Barcelona all want to snap him him up.
But Liverpool, Marca say, are frontrunners for his signature.
It is said they have told Schalke they have the funds to sign Goretzka despite spending big on Van Dijk.
