LaLiga and NWFL sign MOU to improve the Womens game in Nigeria

LaLiga and the Nigeria Women Football League, signed a memorandum of agreement on Tuesday in Lagos, Nigeria whose main objective is to promote women’s soccer in both countries.
In attendance of the agreement signing was the president of the ‘Nigerian Women’s Football League’, NWFL, Aisha Falode and Javier del Rio, delegate of LaLiga in Nigeria.

One of the objectives of the collaboration between the two agencies is to promote women’s access to the sports management, also the cooperation in the development and formation of liability actions corporate social issues that promote equality gender and the integration of women not only in football, but also in sports. The director of LaLiga Women’s Soccer, Martina Olivas, affirmed respect that “In LaLiga we have the firm commitment to support the development of women’s soccer not only nationwide in Spain, but also at the national level international… We are convinced that this collaboration will provide great benefits to both parties.”

A particularly remarkable aspect of this collaboration is the exchange of knowledge and experience thanks to the cooperation between both entities. Another key element of this collaboration will be the preparation of training programs, commercial and television development and internationalisation; all this reaffirming LaLiga’s commitment to the development of soccer in Nigeria.

The president of the Nigeria Women Football League, Aisha Falode, declared that “It is a development necessary and important for the NWFL and Nigerian women’s football as a whole. An alliance strategy and a collaboration with LaLiga, possibly the best league in the world is definitely a breakthrough and in the direction corrected towards the growth and development of women’s soccer in Nigeria”.

Javier Del Rio, delegate of LaLiga in Nigeria, said: “For LaLiga and its office in Nigeria it is a very important agreement that reaffirms our commitment to the development of football in this country.” Women’s soccer in Nigeria is a reference in Africa and internationally, and we are delighted to collaborate with a league that has so much potential. ”

The memorandum of understanding focuses mainly on the sustainable development and growth of women’s football both in Nigeria and in Spain, and will try to facilitate the creation and exchange of knowledge and experience in all aspects of the game and the development of coaches, among other matters.
