Alibaba Akpobome is a Nigerian stand up comedian, entertainer, actor, photographer who goes by the stage name Ali Baba.
Ali Baba was born on 24th June, 1965 in Warri, Delta state, Nigeria.
He is the first son after his parent have had several girls.
Having a soldier father, he studied at Ojo Primary school and Command Secondary school in Lagos.
Ali Baba further his education at Ibru College in Agbarha-Otor before going to Bendel State University (Ambrose Alli University) to study Religious Studies and Philosophy.
He began his professional career with corporate events, appearing on television shows with the likes of Patrick Doyle, Charly Boy and Danladi Bako.
Ali Baba made appearance on radio shows with Bisis Olatilo, Sani Irabor and Onumonmu.
Through guts, sacrifice and creative dynamism, he carved a niche for himself as a comedian for both corporate and non-corporate events.
As a comedian, Ali Baba made the rules, broke them and sometimes even discarded them depending on how effective they were.
In 1993, he registered his company Ali Baba Hicuppuray 3rd which change people’s perception of comedy as a profession instead of the opposite.
He has been a stand up comedian for over 27 years
Ali Baba has won award that includes; Laughter Awards-Baziks Theatre Abuja in 2001, National Comedy Award, 2005 and more.
He was inducted into the Johnnie Walker ‘Striding Man’ society in 2009.
Given a special privilege to ring the Year End Closing Bell of the Nigeria Stock Exchange in 2012.
Ali Baba is married to Mary- Bassey Udoh and the have five children.
