Femi Otedola

A Nigeria businessman, entrepreneur, chairman of Forte  Oil Plc, Founder of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited and the owner of a number of other businesses across shipping, real estate and finance.

Otedola was born in Ibadan, Oyo State on 4th November, 1962 into the family of Sir Micheal Otedola a former governor of Lagos State.

In the 1980s, Femi ran the marketing unit of his family printing press business before going into the petroleum business.

He setup Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited in 2003, as owner and Chairman of Zenon in 2004 he invested 15 billion naira in downstream infrastructure development and acquire storage depots at Ibafon, Apapa as well as four cargo vessels.

Zenon became one of the major fuel distributors in Nigeria, supplying major manufacturing company like, Cadbury, Coca-Cola, Nigeria Breweries, MTN, Dangote Group and more.

In 2007, Otedola was appointed Chairman and Chief executive of Africa Petroleum, controlling major stake in the company.

By March 2009, he became the second Nigerian after Aliko Dangote to appear on the Forbes list of dollar-dominated billionaires, with an estimated net worth of 1.2 billion US dollars.

He was appointed a non-executive director of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria PLC in January 2006.

He has being a member of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council (NIPC) since 2004.

In 2011, Femi Otedola was appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan to the Nigeria National Economic Management Team.

Otedola has made several donations to Micheal Otedola University Scholarship Scheme, which was established in 1985 to give under-privileged students in Lagos State access to higher education

In 2005, he donated 300 million naira to the completion of National Ecumenical Centre in Abuja.

He donates 200 million to Lagos State Security Trust Funds in 2007.

Femi Otedola is married to Nana Otedola and they are blessed with three children.
