Innocent Idibia (Tuface)

2Baba is a Nigerian musician, R&B singer, hip hop, reggae, one of the most decorated and successful Afro-Pop artist in Africa and one of the most bankable artists in Africa.

Innocent Idibia was born on September 18th 1975 in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.

He attends Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary school in Makurdi.

Idibia enrolled at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu where he did his preliminary National Diploma course.

While at IMT, he performed at schools organized shows and parties.

His love for music inspired him to start composing and singing jingles at the GB fan club in Enugu.

In 1996, he adopted the stage name “2Face” (Tuface)

Moving to Lagos, he started performing with rapper like Blackface and musician Faze.

The three guys went on to form a band named “Plantashun Boyz”

Plantashun Boyz released two successful albums; “Body and Soul” (2000) and “Sold Out” (2003) under the Nelson Brown’s record label (Dove Records).

They disbanded in 2004 and went solo in the various career.

2Face started his solo career by releasing his debut  album “Face2Face” in 2004.

He released his second album “Grass 2 Grace” in 2006 which contained hits like “One Love”, “True Love” and “4 Instance.”

In 2006, his song “Africa Queen” was used in the soundtrack for the film Phat Girlz.

He released a promotional album in 2008 called “The Unstoppable”, the album was released early 2009.

In 2010, he released the international edition of the same album title “The Unstoppable International Edition”

This made him the first Nigerian artist to have an appropriate priced international album.

He founded his record label “Hypertek Entertainment” in 2006 after leaving Kennis Music record label.

2face is part of the Sony All African One8 project.

He is the first non-Liberian to become an honorary member of Liberian music society.

Idibia has been named Red Cross ambassador society of Nigeria.

Innocent Idibia, has won awards that includes; Soundcity Music Video Awards, Best African Western award and more.

In 2014, 2face met with American heavy weight rapper, Jay Z in New York City.

2face married Annie Macaulay in 2012 and has 7 children from 4 different women that include Annie.

Idibia is adored by his colleagues and every entertainer in the Nigeria music industry as a role model.
